Bio

Social commentator and agent provocateur.

Who I am and where I come from are not important; it is my writing that is important. I write for you who relate to it, for we see the world akin in its ugliness and beauty, its injustice, agony and potential. But to merely observe and deplore, perhaps even to rage, is not enough. That is why I write, because to observe and lament are not enough – to remain passive is not enough.

And so I am grateful to the creators of SomethingDark for giving me a regular forum as the magazine’s “Critique” writer. There are, no doubt, others who are more deserving, and that is why I hope to be sharing these pages with other writers of poignant perspective, because a community of minds is what we need.

I choose to keep my SomethingDark profile sparse, because I prefer to keep to the shadows – it’s much more interesting here, here with the real people, imagination, creativity and intellect that cannot find a place, or that does not wish to find a place in the constructed, superficial and exploitative world around us that is in an advanced state of decay.

We have something to say about the above, and that is why we write, paint, draw, compose, design, fashion clay, wood, stone and metal. Do we matter? The Earth orbits the Sun, the Moon orbits the Earth. The tide cannot be held back.
