Eroticon 2012: the UK’s first conference for writer’s of eroticaLatest News

A conference for sex bloggers and erotica writers, billed as the first of its type in the United Kingdom, will be held in Bristol on Saturday 3 March.
More than one hundred bloggers and writers have signed up to attend thus far and conference organiser, the erotic author Ruby Kiddell, is expecting many more to participate.
The one-day conference will be held at Armada House in Bristol’s city centre and will begin at 08:00 with breakfast and will end approximately twelve hours later with a closing-session drinks party and readings by erotica writers.
The conference will present delegates with a full schedule of sessions featuring numerous specialist speakers and workshops, some running concurrently. Speakers, panelists and workshop convenors include:
- Maxim Jakubowski, a leading writer and editor of erotic fiction, who will be conducting the writing workshop;
- Zoe Margolis, author of Girl With a One Track Mind, speaking on identity, blogging and ethics;
- Lori Smith, journalist, speaking on sex and the media;
- Lucy Felthouse and Victoria Blisse presenting a session on marketing work in the erotic genre;
- John Tisbury, award-winning erotica photographer, who will be running the photography workshop;
- Scarlet French, erotica writer, speaking on interdisciplinary work;
- MK Elliot, erotica writer, talking about her journey in self publishing;
- Hazel Cushion, founder and publisher of Xcite Books, chairing a publishers’ panel;
- Aisling Weaver and Josephine Myles chairing the “Convincingly Queer” panel;
- London Faerie conducting an end-of-conference demonstration, “Sacred Kink”.
Ruby Kiddell explains the inspiration behind Eroticon: “The idea for Eroticon was born of seeing a need for bloggers and writers to have a safe, non-judgmental and inspiring event in which to discuss their writing, hone their skills and network”.
The conference is sponsored by a host of familiar names from the world of erotic publishing and sex toys. Lovehoney and Coco de Mer are supplying sexy goody bags and the erotic-romance e-book publisher, Total-E-Bound, will be providing breakfast and books. Conference delegates will receive a £50 voucher to spend online at Lovehoney.
